DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Dr. XENITIDIS\, Pavlos (Liverpool Hope University)\n
 In this talk we introduce a class of systems of difference equations defin
 ed on an elementary quadrilateral of the lattice and derive necessary cond
 itions for their integrability. These conditions follow from the requireme
 nt that the system admits infinite hierarchies of symmetries\, and can be
 used in the construction of the lowest order symmetries of the system. The
 se considerations are demonstrated with the help of three systems from the
  class under consideration.\n\nhttp://indico.fuw.edu.pl/contributionDispla

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Prof. BOBENKO\, Alexander (TU Berlin)\nWe consider a
  classical problem in differential geometry\, known as the Bonnet problem\
 , whether a surface is characterized by a metric and mean curvature functi
 on. We explicitly construct a pair of immersed tori that are related by a
 mean curvature preserving isometry. This resolves a longstanding open prob
 lem on whether the metric and mean curvature function determine a unique c
 ompact surface. Discrete integrable systems and discrete differential geom
 etry are used to find crucial geometric properties of surfaces. This is a
 joint work with Tim Hoffmann and Andrew Sageman-Furnas.\n\nhttp://indico.f
