We compute the decay constants of the lowest ccbar-states with quantum numbers J(PC)=0(-+) [eta_c], 1(--) [J/psi], and 1(+-) [hc] by using lattice QCD and QCD sum rules. We consider the coupling of J/psi to both the vector and tensor currents. Lattice QCD results are obtained from the unquenched (Nf=2) simulations using twisted mass QCD at four lattice spacings, allowing us to take the continuum l

Fragmentation functions measured in e+e- and pp collisions are well reproduced via a fragmentation model based on microcanonical statistics and superimposed Euler--Gamma-type multiplicity fluctuations [1,2]. The power of the obtained analytic fragmentation function (which is a cut-power function in x) developes a double-logarithmic dependence on the QCD scale Q^2 [3]. Besides, this function also d

The N=4 super Yang-Mills plasma is studied in the regime of weak coupling. Collective excitations and collisional processes are discussed. Since the Keldysh-Schwinger approach is used, the collective excitations in both equilibrium and non-equilibrium plasma are under consideration. The dispersion equations of gluon, fermion, and scalar modes are written down and the self-energies, which enter the

The weak gravity conjecture (WGC) is an ultraviolet consistency condition asserting that an Abelian force requires a state of charge q and mass m with q > m/mPl. We generalize the WGC to product gauge groups and study its tension with the naturalness principle for a charged scalar coupled to gravity. Reconciling naturalness with the WGC either requires a Higgs phase or a low cutoff at Λ ∼ q mPl

We exploit gauge theory/string theory correspondence to study quantum
quenches in strongly coupled gauge theory plasma. Specifically, we
consider the response of a thermal equilibrium state of the theory
under variations of the coupling of a relevant operator. We discuss
the transition from the 'adiabatic' regime (quenches slow on a thermal
time-scale) to 'abrupt' changes (quenches fast on a

We find that a properly defined principle of small representations
leads to much of the structure of the Standard Model. This weakly
suggests that the Standard Model - though possibly repeated as
several sectors - is all there is untill very high in energy.
Then such a picture needs being supported by explaining away arguments
for why Standaard Model can not work ``all the way up'' almos
