A superconducting phase of the N2HDM

Presented by Marc SHER on 15 Sep 2023 from 13:30 to 13:45

Content

The N2HDM has two doublets and a real singlet. If one abandons the Z2 symmetry under which the singlet is odd, then there is a region of parameter space in which there is a phase during the electroweak transitions in which U(1)_em is broken. This leads (temporarily) to a photon mass and charge nonconservation, which implies W-photon, top-bottom and neutrino-electron mixing (and even leads to Majorana electrons). We study the phase transitions in the model and discuss the implications for electroweak baryogenesis and for gravitational wave production.
