I will discuss a simple model of inflection-point inflation, with a renormalizable potential containing just three terms. In the small-field case the inflationary phase can be treated analytically, but reheating involves nonperturbative dynamics. In the large-field case reheating is simple, and the inflationary phase may include two epochs of "eternal" inflation, with quite different Hubble parame ... More

For thermal-relic dark matter in the multi-TeV regime, the formation and decay of metastable bound states can deplete its abundance significantly, thereby changing the predicted correlation between couplings and mass and affecting all experimental signatures. This effect is important if dark matter couples to vector force carriers, but becomes dramatic if dark matter couples to scalar mediators th ... More

We present the simplest scalar model of dynamical symmetry breaking which induces only one scale from scalar dark mater couplings. While the generated scale may vary, $10^{11-16}$~GeV, the dark matter mass is fixed to $5.6 \times 10^8$~GeV due to freeze-in dynamics. Right-handed neutrino Majorana masses are generated by $w$ via Yukawa couplings, and the seesaw mechanism of type-I and leptogenesis ... More

In this talk we explore (dark) Schwinger production during inflation and after reheating as a mechanism for generating scalar dark matter. We first review how a background dark electric field can be produced during inflation and how it can then produce dark charged scalars via the Schwinger mechanism. We then track the cosmic evolution of the dark electric field and dark charged scalars after rehe ... More
