Scalars and low-energy lepton physics

Presented by Prof. Dominik STOECKINGER on 13 Sep 2023 from 16:00 to 16:30

Content

Scalars can play an important role in the low-energy physics of leptons. They can lead to new chirality-flipping contributions to the muon mass and strong contributions to muon g-2. Via the seesaw mechanism they can explain neutrino masses. Scalars with such properties can typically induce significant lepton-flavour violating effects, implying strong constraints on the parameter space of models. This interplay is discussed and illustrated for 2-Higgs doublet model and leptoquark extensions of the standard model.
