This talk reviews the essential features and the phenomenology of single-field inflationary scenarios that can produce large spectral features resulting in the production of primordial black holes. This talks presents simple analytic set-up capable of capturing the features present in most models in the literature. We also discuss less common scenarios for PBHs such as inflation from double well p ... More

We have shown that the process of non-instantaneous reheating during the post-inflationary period can have a sizeable impact on the charged lepton equilibration temperature in the early Universe. This suggests revisiting into the flavor effects of leptogenesis where the production and decay of right-handed neutrinos take place within this extended era of reheating. We observe that the decay of th ... More

In this talk, I will analyse a super-cooled phase transition in the early Universe responsible for the generation of elementary particles' masses. I will highlight the most important characteristics of the phase transition relevant for producing gravitational-wave (GW) signal and discuss the observability prospects of the resulting GW spectra. I will also focus on the sources of theoretical uncert ... More

In this presentation, we propose a novel possibility for Higgs inflation where the conformal gravity coupling for the Higgs field leads to the proximity of the effective Planck mass to zero in the Jordan frame during inflation, corresponding to a pole in the Higgs kinetic term in the Einstein frame. The perturbative unitarity below the Planck scale is ensured by construction and the successful ... More

A Hubble-Induced Phase Transition is a natural and powerful spontaneous-symmetry-breaking mechanism that leads to an explosive production of particles in non-oscillatory models of inflation. The starring role is played by a non-minimally-coupled spectator scalar field that undergoes a phase transition as the Ricci scalar flips sign at the beginning of a kination phase after inflation. By performin ... More

Higgs inflation stands out among many possible inflationary models for its minimal character, not requiring any extra degrees of freedom beyond the Standard Model. Nonetheless, the inflationary predictions, as well as the post-inflationary dynamics, are sensitive to the formulation of gravity one uses. In this work, we study the preheating phase of Higgs Inflation in Einstein-Cartan gravity. ... More

Long-lived sterile neutrinos can play the role of dark matter. We consider the possibility that such neutrinos form a thermal bath with a singlet scalar, while not being in thermal equilibrium with the Standard Model fields. Eventually, the neutrino dark matter undergoes freeze-out in the dark sector, which can occur in both non-relativistic and relativistic regimes. To account for the latter poss ... More

We perform the calculation for tree-level ultraviolet unitarity violation scales for scalar-R^2 inflation models by including an additional R^2|Φ|^2-type term. Due to certain constraints, we resort to the Einstein frame for our calculations, where we separate our analysis between metric and Palatini formulations. We follow recent works in this line that debunk the naive predictions for unitarity ... More

The true nature of the Higgs particle (is it fundamental or composite?) is still under investigation. One plausible realization, which provides also a solution to the ElectroWeak hierarchy problem, is to identify the Higgs field with one of the pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone bosons (pNGBs) arising from the spontaneous and explicit breaking of a global symmetry at some UV scale. However, for the physicall ... More
